2026 VW Funfest Scenic Fun Run
Join us for a relaxing scenic drive through the Effingham countryside as we make our way to Pinky's at Lake Sara. Follow the directions below and enjoy the ride with fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts.
Fun Run Route
- Exit Mid America Motorworks and turn right.
- Continue to County Road 1800 N and turn left.
- Follow County Road 1800 N to County Road 1200 E and turn left.
- Continue north and turn right onto Illinois Route 33.
- Follow Route 33 and turn left onto Nazarene Road. Important: This turn requires crossing oncoming traffic and may become a separation point for the group. Please use caution, obey traffic laws, and proceed only when safe.
- Continue on Nazarene Road and turn right onto County Road 1600 N.
- Follow County Road 1600 N and turn left onto North Beach Road.
- Continue along North Beach Road and turn left onto East Marine Road.
- Follow East Marine Road to our destination: Pinky's at Lake Sara.

The VW Funfest Fun Run
The VW Funfest Fun Run was created to provide an amazing experience for all our Volkswagen enthusiasts to cruise together. This year, we invite you to join us on Saturday night at 5:00 PM as we drive through the scenic country roads and head out to Pinky's on the beautiful Lake Sara.
Event Highlights
- Less Traffic: Moving to Saturday for an easier, more unified cruise.
- Drive Time: Expect a relaxing 20 to 25-minute total drive.
- Route Maps: Will be made available in the near future.

Pinky's has been voted the #1 outdoor dining venue in Effingham, IL. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy great food with fellow VW lovers!

Camping at Mid America Motorworks
One of the things that has always made VW Funfest special is the ability to stay on-site and spend extra time with fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts. We're excited to continue that tradition for 2026. As we return to a simpler, one-day VW & Coffee-style gathering, on-site camping will once again be available for those who want to extend the experience.
Campers are welcome to arrive anytime on Friday, June 20, and may stay through Saturday night on the Mid America Motorworks grounds. Due to planned construction and utility work on-site, all campers are required to check in with Mid America Motorworks staff prior to unloading. Our team will guide you to designated camping areas to ensure safe placement for everyone attending. Camping at VW Funfest is intended to be a casual, community-focused experience. While amenities are limited, the atmosphere more than makes up for it. We will have overnight lighting and porta potties available for campers. Please plan accordingly, as fires are not permitted, and showers and electrical hookups are not available on-site.

We're glad to continue offering this option and encourage everyone to come prepared, be respectful of fellow campers, and enjoy the experience.
